20th November 2025
Dear BCIS member,
Are you and your team enthusiastic about training and education and committed to developing the next generation of interventional cardiologists? Could you deliver two days of interactive, informative, and innovative education? If so, we would like to invite you to submit an expression of interest to host the trainees summer meeting and are taking applications for 2026 to 2028 inclusive.
Each year, the BCIS TEG (Training and Education Group) runs a popular face to face training programme for interventional fellows and registrars across the UK. In September this year, Derby, Leicester and Nottingham, came together to deliver a collaborative and immersive course with excellent feedback – our many thanks to Dr. Damien Kelly, Dr. Andy Ladwiniec and Dr. Andrew Vanezis and your teams and centres.
Future courses will be developed together with the selected host centre(s), but have traditionally worked best with a mixture of in-house and external faculty, hosted in a nearby hotel (although a hospital venue is an option) logistically taken care of by Millbrook Medical Conferences.
As per this year, we would like to encourage collaborative applications from a combination of Tertiary and DGH setting(s), however, single centre applications are also welcome.
It is intended that the successful centre(s) selected to host the 2026 course will meet virtually with the TEG Working Group to agree a date, venue, responsibilities and course content in early 2026. Preliminary meetings for the 2027 and 2028 hosts will take place in time.
Application
Application is by self-nomination along with a supporting statement from the centre(s) of no more than 500 words . Please include the details of what you and your unit(s) can bring to the BCIS Trainees Course. Centres will be selected based on prior experience and effectiveness of delivery, range of subjects covered, innovative training ideas and ease of access to venue.
Applicants are welcome to upload a suggested draft agenda, but this is optional.
If you have the enthusiasm, energy and passion for education, to deliver the next BCIS trainees course, please complete and return the form below together with your statement of support by Friday, 19th December at 5 PM.
If you have any further questions relating to this event, please feel free to make contact for further information (KVM1083@outlook.com).
With kind regards,
Kalaivani Mahadevan and Krishnaraj Rathod
