I found a passion for Interventional Cardiology when I began working in the Cardiac Catheter Lab at DCH in 2007.
I am particularly interested in complex PCI, Microvascualr Angina and Coronary Sinus Reducers.
My hunger for education and the emphasis of this on the AHP team has been something that I have always strived for. The engagement of the entire MDT in a Cath Lab has been proven to aid success in procedures, as well as promoting patient safety and efficiencies.

I am a full‑time Interventional Cardiologist providing 24/7 primary PCI (PPCI) emergency cover, alongside urgent/acute coronary syndrome (ACS) and elective interventional procedures for patients across Cumbria and the wider region. Since late 2025, I have co‑developed and launched the region’s Chronic Total Occlusion (CTO) and Complex PCI service, significantly expanding access to advanced coronary intervention locally.
I have led major transformation of cardiology services in Cumbria. In 2016, I helped establish the region’s first nurse led heart failure service, achieving a sustained reduction in heart failure mortality from 25% to 7%. I remain deeply committed to innovation led improvement in cardiology services, translating new evidence, technology and models of care into meaningful benefits for patients. Since my consultant appointment, I have introduced multiple new techniques and service innovations, including dedicated bifurcation stenting (2014), expanded radial access with the introduction of a Radial Lounge (2015), and the launch of the nurse‑led heart failure service (2016), modernising interventional cardiology practice in one of England’s most rural health systems. I also co‑led the development of the £3.4 million Heart Centre at Cumberland Infirmary, which became fully operational in 2025 and now delivers over 1,500 interventional procedures annually.
During the COVID‑19 pandemic, I maintained a safe and uninterrupted 24/7 PPCI service while helping lead the rapid transition of outpatient cardiology services to virtual models of care, receiving excellent patient and organisational feedback. Collectively, these initiatives have significantly improved access, outcomes and service resilience for a geographically dispersed and high‑risk population.
