Training & Education Group

Our core aims are wide and varied. We aim to provide high-quality BCIS courses throughout the year aimed at the full range of BCIS members from trainee through to AHPs and established consultants. These established and high-quality forums include BCIS Coronary Intervention Trainees Course, BCIS Allied Health Professionals Annual Conference as well as EAPCI and SCAI fellows course. Beyond this, the annual ACI trainee sessions have seen considerable evolution with the introduction of clinical case competition and presentation “Best of Young”.

The group is central to the support of the BCIS interventional fellowship programme now expanded to four annual fellowships hosted in Victoria (Vancouver Island BC), Toronto, Adelaide and Auckland.

The website acts as a central source of information for these activities and also provides a rich array of educational and presentation material with full conference webcasts, slide bank for both upload and download of members presentations where possible (converted to PDF first).

Content is updated on a monthly basis and various calls for applications, speakers and conference opportunities will be made available in the news section.

I found a passion for Interventional Cardiology when I began working in the Cardiac Catheter Lab at DCH in 2007.
I am particularly interested in complex PCI, Microvascualr Angina and Coronary Sinus Reducers.
My hunger for education and the emphasis of this on the AHP team has been something that I have always strived for. The engagement of the entire MDT in a Cath Lab has been proven to aid success in procedures, as well as promoting patient safety and efficiencies.
