BCIS Trainees Courses: selected centres December 2016 – December 2019

Dear Colleague

BCIS Council and the Training & Education Group are pleased to announce that following an unprecedented number of expressions of interest, the host centres for the BCIS Core Curriculum Interventional Trainees Course and Advanced Cardiovascular Interventional Trainees Course have been selected. A total of 23 expressions of interest were received, which is a great reflection of the enthusiasm of BCIS members for interventional education. Given the level of interest, we elected to allocate each centre to host for 1 year only, rather than the previous 2.

The successful centres were as follows:-

Core Curriculum Interventional Trainees Course

  • April 2017 – Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester
  • April 2018 – Cardiff
  • April 2019 – West Yorkshire (Pinderfields/Halifax/York/Leeds)
  • April 2020 – Cambridge

Advanced Cardiovascular Interventional Trainees Course

  • 5-6 December 2016 – Liverpool
  • December 2017 – King’s/St Thomas’s
  • December 2018  – Belfast
  • December 2019  – Edinburgh

We would like to thank all those centres who expressed an interest in hosting the courses, and to encourage those individuals and all BCIS members who wish to participate in any of the educational or other activities of the Society to contact BCIS via the Officers, Council Members or via bcis@bcs.com at any time.
