Conference overview

St George’s University Hospitals is delighted to co-host the 2024 edition of the BCIS Interventional Trainees Course.

This is a recognised BCIS Course for Core and Advanced Trainees, and as such is considered by BCIS a core component of sub-specialty training in intervention.

Topics

The meeting will consist of case-based lectures and discussions concentrating on mainstream coronary and structural intervention. Topics include:

  • The Golden rules of PCI
  • Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI)
  • Stent failure and design
  • Complications sessions
  • PCI complexity

Hands-on demonstrations

Plus, educational hands-on demonstrations, split into but not limited to the following sessions:

  • Femoral access and closure
  • Microcatheters and wires
  • Rotablation and orbital atherectomy
  • IVUS and OCT imaging
  • PCI simulation

Hands-on demonstrations will run parallel. Delegates are to choose one stream ‘CORE’ or ‘ADVANCED’ according to their level of training, which is to be verified by superiors / supervisors.
