Clinical Standards Group Committee Member Positions

Dear BCIS member,

We would like to invite expressions of interest from enthusiastic and committed BCIS members keen to have a role in the continued development of our Society. This is your opportunity so please do consider applying.

Clinical Standards Group Committee Member (2 posts)

Clinical Standards Group work includes: development and/or review of BCIS guidance and statements on clinical practice, co-ordination of the BCIS peer review programme, communication with NICE, MHRA, and other national bodies relevant to clinical standards, including the co-ordination of BCIS responses to published guidance and statements from such national bodies, and specialist input to the Royal College of Physicians. The group lead is Gerald Clesham to whom the member would have direct responsibility.

 

Eligibility/Person Specification

Applications are open from the BCIS membership, and it is expected that the applicant will have extensive experience of the clinical practice of interventional cardiology.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience of committee work, good organisational & leadership abilities and preferably have previous experience of clinical standards work or governance activities.

The position is for a 3-year term and will commence Sept 20.

 

Application

Application is by self-nomination, with reference to the person specification above. A supporting statement from the candidate, no more than 1 side of A4, which specifically addresses their suitability for the role must accompany self-nomination in order for the application to be valid.
