Senior consultant cardiologist and formerly clinical director of cardiology. Qualified from Charing Cross & Westminster Medical School (Imperial College) with general cardiology and interventional training in London and Switzerland. Academic training has included a Wellcome Research Fellowship at the Rayne Institute, St.Thomas` Hospital, Kings College London (MD) and British Heart Foundation International Fellowship at the Swiss Cardiovascular Centre, Bern (Prof B Meier). He combines a busy clinical job with an active teaching and translational research programme at UCL with interests in acute coronary syndrome, microparticles, intra- coronary imaging and high risk coronary disease (diabetes, Familial Hyperlipidemia and HIV). Principal investigator for a number of NIHR portfolio adopted studies. Associate Editor Clinical Medicine. Member UCL Partners Cardiovascular and Biomedical Research Centre programme boards. Elected member of council, Royal College of Physicians UK.
