Heart Disease Audit 09
The Healthcare Commission will be again assessing a trust against a ‘participation in heart disease audits’ performance indicator. For the 2008/2009 assessment year they will be examining BCIS data for the calendar year 2008.
The deadline for these data to have been uploaded to CCAD will be:

Professional Behaviour at BCIS Meetings
BCIS has a major role in training and education, with annual Society meetings and contributions to other national and international forums. These meetings may include lectures and debates, case-based discussions, angiogram review sessions, and live case demonstrations to exhibit procedural techniques and new technologies
BCIS wishes to ensure that participants in all of these activities adhere to the highest standards of professional practice and that the care and dignity of patients is maintained above all other considerations. BCIS Council therefore makes the following recommendations:

Funnel Plot
The risk adjusted outcome cummulative funnel plot generator for PCI is now ready to be used. The report works in the same way as the generation of aggregate data reports, and the time delays reports generator.
The report will generate an analysis in the form of a password protected excel spreadsheet. The predicted and observed MACCE are listed for each PCI procedure using your reported CCAD data and the NQWIP model. A cummulative funnel plot is generated with 2 and 3 sigma lines.
